Soil is a vital natural resource, the degradation of which can occur quickly, while the processes of formation and regeneration are extremely slow. Agriculture and soil protection go hand in hand. Soil protection measures must commit to prudent and environmentally friendly soil management. Within the sector, issues relating to soil health, agricultural competitiveness and national food security are intertwined in terms of trade, development and environmental protection. Research focusing on organic farming, sustainable land use and soil protection shall contribute, inter alia, to the development of products and technologies with scientific and improved characteristics. Sustainable agriculture creates the preconditions and addresses best practices to tackle problems which are actually cross-border in nature.
In our dissemination activities, we focus on informing agricultural producers and the public about good agricultural practices for soil conservation, but also introduce them to recent innovation in the sector.
